On the Wednesdays we have squash in the afternoon. Squash is a fun sports game. It tuns out to be I am really good at squash. We normally have matches at the end. The instructor picks kids that he thinks are good. I am one of the best players in the school. Then we have the matches. I always get picked because I am one of the best players in my class. I normally have match with Ms Daly but I have still not beat her. My squash buddy is Nikhil - he is really good at squash I have some matches with him. I beta him in some games and he beats me in some games. My other friend Yousuf is good as well, he can beat me... and he has. I can't forget about Indie, his game is improving and he has beat me three times. I am good at squash because my family members are squash players.

Trip To Camp!

On 20th of August Waikowhai left the school at 8:15 am. It took 2 hours to get to Hamilton gardens. We ate our morning tea at Hamilton Gardens. Then we got some paper and ran around Hamilton Gardens and we had to find different gardens and write it on the paper.
There were a lot of different gardens like the Chinese Garden, Indian garden and Japanese...
I was feeling tired because I ran a lot and I was sleepy. A while later we went back to the bus.

We were getting ready for camp, the school gave us a lot of clothes
but we had to buy some stuff for ourselves.  I had to get some sun glasses, gloves and also some scarfs.

After the Hamilton gardens we went to a little town called Otorohanga.

There were a lot of different posters there, and my favorite was the Rugby poster, it was cool  because it had a lot of different things as well as Anzac, Dogs, NZ and a lot more.
We were so hungry and happy that we got to eat lunch.
We got to go to the park and have a play. My favourite ride was the big swing because me and my friend Ehsan almost did a front and back flip, I felt very dizzy and lazy because of the ride.

Next stop was Tumarai school, me and my friends played cricket at the school because the teachers brought the cricket set. After that we went back in the bus and then went to the crossing where we were sleeping at. It was a 45 minute drive. When we made it to the Crossing everyone was trying to find their rooms. When my group found our bedroom we put our bags on the beds we wanted to sleep on.
After that the teachers called out our room numbers to get our suit cases.
It was my groups turn to go and get our suit cases and we put then under our bunk beds.

It was time to have some dinner I was starving so was everyone else. The food was so delicious we had sausages, garlic bread and a lot of veggies. On the next day we went to the mountain Mount Ruapehu, when we made it we had to go on a different bus because the road was really slippery and that's why the next bus we went on had chains on the tires.
We finally made it up the mountain. Everyone had to go and put on all of our gear like skis or snowboard boots and also a helmet we also got our skis and snowboard's the people who were skiing didn't get to use the sticks because it was their fist times skiing.

But first we went Tobogganing it was really fun because there was a very steep hill and we all bumped on each other. Luckily there was a magic carpet there so we wouldn't have to walk up the hill. Before snowboarding we went Tobogganing it was really fun because there was a very steep hill and we all bumped on each other luckily there was a magic carpet there so we wouldn't have to walk up the hill. On the first day of me snowboarding was not great but I didn't give up.

It was time to go back to the crossing we got to take the ski and snowboards back to he crossing since we were going to come back tomorrow.
As we were going to the bus everyone who was wearing ski boots had really sore feet and some people even got bruises like my friend Ehsan.

The last day of Mount Ruapehu was a blast! I got better at snowboarding than before and we got to have free time this time but first we went inside the shop and picked seats to have our lunch at.
When we finished our lunch me and my friends Ehsan and Indie went down the slopes to the chair lifts but we still did the same thing going down to the chair lifts and coming back.
But when I saw Indie's Dad Donald climb up the mountain we followed him. The sketchiest part was skiing and snowboarding down the hill. We all gave it a shot and tried our best not all of us succeeded but most of us did. It was time to go back to the crossing and that was our last day of skiing and snowboarding as we went to give back all of the gear we sang about 3 songs for thanking to people that work at Mount Ruapehu.

The next day we went to the pools in Taupo. The best part of the pools was that you could do bombs. So of all of the boys and girls went to put on their togs and go for a big swim. As I was swimming with my friends we decided to go on a ride where you hang on a rope and swing your self and let go but you had to make sure you didn't hit the wall. Lots of people almost got hit.
When about 1 hour and 30 minutes had passed we had a break and ate hot dogs. The max amount of hot dogs people could eat was about 3.

Next stop was the water fall. The water fall was really cool because on one side the water had big waves and on the other side there was not a single wave and there were changing colors.
After the water fall we went to Hamilton Gardens to get a big photo of us. We also included the really big bus who were right behind us. We left Hamilton Gardens and it was time to go back home and see our families again. Some of us were sad and most of us were really happy.
We made it back to school and everyone gave their families a big hug and went home.
I really enjoyed my time at camp!!!
